Hyderabad, Oct.9 (NSS): More than 220 nursing professionals participated in the Critical Care Nursing Workshop 2026 organised by Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute as part of the 6th World Conference on Comprehensive Critical Care (W4C 2026).
Led by Dr. Basanth Kumar Rayani, Head of Onco Anaesthesia, the workshop featured expert sessions and hands-on training in ventilator management, oxygen therapy, airway management, ABG interpretation and other critical care practices. Topics included delirium management, nutrition, end-of-life care, patient mobilisation and early recognition of clinical deterioration.
The sessions also highlighted the vital role of nurses in recognising early signs of clinical deterioration, responding promptly to changing patient conditions and supporting safe, evidence-based care.
The inaugural session was attended by Dr. Rajeswari Muppidi, President of the Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI), Telangana, as chief guest, along with Dr. Basanth Kumar Rayani; Dr. K. Kalpana Raghunath, Associate Director; Dr. Phani Koteswara Rao, Medical Superintendent; Shri Raavi Srinivasa Rao, Chief Operating Officer; Dr. Vibhavari Naik, Senior Consultant, Onco Anaesthesia; Dr. Arumugam, In-charge, Critical Care and Emergency Medicine; Dr. Rajini, Consultant, Critical Care and Emergency Medicine; and Mrs. Sreevani, Nursing Superintendent.
The programme concluded with a post-workshop assessment and certificate distribution, emphasising the importance of continuous training in improving nursing skills and patient care. (NSS)
