Hyderabad, July 23 (NSS): Alleging that the Centre displayed biased attitude in implementation of promises made to States, BJP MPs, who have won from Telangana should be held accountable, said CPI State secretary and the party’s legislator Koonamneni Sambasiva Rao alleged that the budget presented by the Central government had done injustice to Telangana State.
“It is unfair for Narendra Modi as Prime Minister to make budgetary allocations in such a way that it increases the differences between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in a partisan manner without taking into account the interests of the State.
According to the Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation Act, I am happy that ₹.15,000 crore has been allocated, an industrial corridor has been sanctioned to Andhra Pradesh and funds have been allocated in the budget for Rayalaseema and North Andhra regions as part of the development of the backward areas and allocations have been announced for the completion of the Polavaram project. However, the fact that not a single one of the bifurcation promises to be implemented in Telangana under the same bifurcation act has been fulfilled is a testimony to the vision of Narendra Modi,” he said. He said as per the bifurcation promises, Telangana’s Bayyaram steel factory, Kazipet coach factory, funds for backward areas, tribal university and Kaleshwaram project were not given funds in the past and added that now funds have not been given for Palamuru project. He said Singareni mines, which are the heart of Telangana, were being corporatised without giving funds. “Modi, who had taken a partisan attitude towards the two Telugu States last time, said he has now taken precautionary measures to retain the allies.
In Telangana State also, eight MPs from the BJP have won and two of them have done injustice to the people of Telangana even though they are Union ministers,” he said. Sambasiva Rao demanded that the love for votes was not meant for taking up responsibilities and added the BJP MPs who won from Telangana should be held accountable.
