
Hyderabad, Oct.19 (NSS):The Governor of Telangana inaugurated an exhibition of art works of Neurodiverse (Intellectually Challenged) at the Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad today. This unique exhibition titled “Diverse Voices: Art Beyond Boundaries”, supported by the Salar Jung Museum under Ministry of Culture is showcasing about 100 artworks by neurodiverse artists hailing from various parts of the country.
Addressing the gathering, Governor said “Diversity is the essence of creation. Uniformity is not acceptable in any sphere but unity is the key to attaining the Indian ideal of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam.” Jishnu Dev Verma said that he was touched and moved by the efforts of neuro diverse artists and said that art is something to be experienced and not explained. He said the art works exhibited in the museum today are expressions of the divine spark within the special artists.
The Director of Salarjung Museum, Ashish Goyal said, “Diversity equity & inclusivity is our mantra. This exhibition serves as a vital platform for the neurodiverse artists to present their works and their unique perspectives to the public and is also a testament to the ability of art to inspire positive change within our communities.”
Sharing her perspective on the upcoming exhibition Shalini Gupta, Founder Trustee, The Art Sanctuary, said “We firmly believe in the transformative potential of art to transcend boundaries and forge meaningful connections.” Renowned vocalist Smt. Durga Jasraj and Padma awardee Mohammed Ali Baig participated as Guests of Honour.
The exhibition’s Catalogue providing comprehensive overview of the showcased artworks and their creators was released by the guests.
The exhibition, curated by Dr. Atiya Amjad, would be on till the 27th of this month. It encompasses a diverse range of mediums, including paintings, drawings, photographs, digital art, and clay/ plastic models. Each artwork offers a peep into the world of neuro diverse artists’ worlds. Through their expressive endeavours, these artists navigate the complexities of their social environments, offering not only artistic value but also serving as a source of inspiration for many.
