Cm Revanth Betrayed People: Harish Rao

Hyderabad, Nov.28 (NSS): Former minister and senior BRS leader Harish Rao today accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of betraying the people and Parliament on the issue of the Musi river rejuvenation project. “Now, they are saying that new houses will not be demolished. What about the ongoing demolitions,” he asked.

Harish Rao said the houses of the poor were demolished in the name of Hydra. “Even if compensation is given, the pain they suffered will not go away. They were thrown out of their houses with their clothes on. The same is the case with Musi. How will you pay compensation for the houses that have collapsed,” he asked. He lashed out at CM Revanth Reddy for taking the help of the poor with aggressive actions. He was angry that the State was being defamed. He made it clear that the BRS party will not spare the government till compensation is given.

Harish Rao said the houses of 280 families had been razed to the ground and added that there were 16 families staying in a house in Shankar Nagar of Old Malakpet area. “How will they survive if the house is demolished and given a double bedroom house built by KCR,” he asked. He said it should be given as a right and added that it was clear that getting a house was the constitutional right of the displaced. “We are ready to discuss the issues that have been conveyed to Parliament on the issue of compensation to Musi victims,” he said. He also challenged the Chief Minister to tell him where to come.
Rao said it was not like talking about killing or trampling on a bulldozer. He said he was ready for an open debate as he was ready to go anywhere.

Harish Rao said they were not against revival of Musi river. He said they were opposing the real estate business in the name of the Musi river. He said he was against looting State government funds under the guise of the Musi river. He said it was KCR and BRS party that started the Musi project.
