Hyderabad, Dec.11 (RAHNUMA): BRS leaders slammed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, alleging misuse of public funds and inflated investment claims linked to the recent Global Summit.
At a press meet, party spokesperson Manne Krishank along with leaders K Kishore Goud, Dinesh Chaudhary and Harish Reddy, released a book titled “Commissions, Contracts, Congress Party – Two Years” detailing alleged irregularities.
Krishank claimed that the government had spent Rs.150 crore on the summit, only to present a “ChatGPT – generated vision document”, reflecting a lack of original planning. He said global acclaim for Telangana during KCR’s tenure – from figures like former RBI Governor Duvvuri Subbarao and former UK PM Tony Blair – contradicts Congress’ criticism of the previous regime.
He alleged the Congress government is misusing 13,000 acres acquired for Pharma City for real-estate ventures while creating confusion among the investors. “Even during the summit, major pharma firms like Sigachi and Virupaksha moved operations to Kurnool”, he said.
BRS leader Dinesh Choudhary accused the state government of ‘cheating people’ by showcasing unreliable companies in the investment announcements. He claimed several firms that signed MoUs were newly formed, lacked financial strength, and could be ‘shell companies’. Although the government claimed Rs.1.74 lakh crore investments, only Rs.9,000 crore actually materialized this financial year, he remarked and demanded an ED probe into companies signing MoUs and alleged that CM Revanth Reddy even signed an agreement with his brother’s ‘Swachha Bio Company’, raising conflict-of-interest concerns.
On this occasion, the BRS leaders questioned the purpose and outcomes of CM Revanth Reddy’s trips to Davos, US, Korea, Japan and Singapore, demanding a ‘white paper’ on investments and job creation resulting from these visits. They also criticized the use of public funds for events like “Rahul Gandhi Bharat Summit and the Miss World event”, questioning the return on investment.
