Hyderabad, Dec.24 (RAHNUMA): CPI State Secretary and MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao on Wednesday urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to focus on fulfilling unimplemented Assembly election promises, stating that two years have passed since the Congress came to power and public scrutiny has begun. While acknowledging schemes such as free power, Rs.500 LPG cylinders, Indiramma houses, ration cards and free bus travel, he pressed for implementation of pending assurances including Rs.2,500 monthly aid for women, Rs.4,000 pensions and one tola gold under Kalyana Lakshmi.
Addressing a press conference at Makhdoom Bhavan, Kunamneni criticised the Centre, alleging erosion of constitutional values, and called for a united fight against the Centre and Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu on water disputes. He warned against politicising river issues and urged for collective action in the state’s interest.
The CPI leader also flagged exploitation of outsourcing employees due to salary cuts and pending arrears, advised the Congress to strengthen ties with friendly parties ahead of MPTC and ZPTC elections, and cited CPI’s success in Panchayat polls with 94 sarpanches elected. He announced that CPI centenary celebrations will now be held in Khammam on January 18, with CM Revanth Reddy to be invited.
