Addressing the event, which saw participation from thousands of students, the Governor stated that the future of the nation depends on the healthy habits of its youth.
He described the initiative not merely as a run, but as a powerful people’s movement. The Governor urged every family to adopt an active lifestyle in response to the call given by Narendra Modi. He also called upon the youth to play an active role in building an Atmanirbhar Bharat by eliminating the menace of drug abuse.
Emphasising holistic well-being, he highlighted that along with physical fitness, meditation is essential for achieving mental peace.
Addressing the gathering, former vice president M. Venkaiah Naidu emphasised the importance of youth and education in nation-building.
He urged young people to stay connected to their roots by speaking in their mother tongue, respecting parents and teachers, and maintaining discipline in life. Venkaiah Naidu stressed the need for a healthy lifestyle, advising participants to wake up early, engage in regular physical exercise, and consume nutritious home-cooked food instead of relying on fast food.
Highlighting the dangers of modern habits, he cautioned against the excessive use of social media, describing it as increasingly distracting and unproductive.
Venkaiah Naidu encouraged youth to use mobile phones only when necessary and focus on improving their attention and mental well-being.
Speaking about India’s global standing, he noted the country’s balanced diplomatic relations and its steady progress toward becoming a developed and strong nation. He underlined that India’s strength is meant for self-protection and standing against injustice, not aggression.
Venkaiah Naidu concluded with a powerful message, urging everyone to remember the importance of “walk and conduct,” stating that while walking ensures physical health, good conduct shapes a person’s future.
He encouraged families to spend quality time together, resolve issues through discussion, and uphold cultural values.
The event also featured Zumba and yoga warm-up sessions, Heartfulness meditation, play zones, food stalls, and entertainment activities, creating a vibrant community atmosphere. A prize pool of ₹1,00,000 was announced for top performers in selected categories.
