MGIT HOSTS FDP TO BOOST INNOVATIVE TEACHING PRACTICES

Hyderabad, April 4 (RAHNUMA): The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) conducted a one-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Empowering Educators: Innovative Facilitation Techniques for Quality Enhancement” at its A-Block Auditorium here on Saturday. The event aimed to equip educators with modern pedagogical tools to improve the quality of engineering education.

Prof. P. Ram Kishore Kumar Reddy, director of IQAC, outlined key quality initiatives and the objective behind the FDP, while Prof. K. Sudhakar Reddy, vice-principal and head of mechanical engineering, emphasized the importance of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in engineering. MGIT Principal Prof. G. ChandraMohan Reddy urged faculty to embrace continuous learning to stay industry-relevant.

The highlight was an engaging session by former Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) K. Karunakaran, who stressed a shift towards student-centric learning approaches. He urged educators to adopt student-centric methods that foster critical thinking and active engagement, rather than passive learning.

The program saw active participation from faculty across all departments and concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. S. Madhava Reddy, additional director of IQAC.
