Inclusive growth key to Viksit Bharat 2047, says Governor

Hyderabad, April 14 (RAHNUMA): Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that inclusive growth and equal opportunities were fundamental to building a just and progressive society, and central to realising the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The Governor, who was the chief guest at the ‘Valedictory of Social Empowerment Week – Submission of Note on SAMATHA and NIPUNA Initiatives under the Equal Opportunity Framework’ at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Jubilee Hills on Tuesday, distributed Jyothi Reddy Foundation Fellowships to 374 tribal and transgender students pursuing courses at the university.

Addressing the gathering, Shiv Pratap Shukla appreciated the SAMATHA and NIPUNA initiatives for their focus on social empowerment, skill development, and equitable access to education.

“This month, we celebrated the birth anniversaries of Babu Jagjivan Ram, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. We must strive for the uplift of marginalised communities in line with their ideals,” he said.

The Governor termed the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which reserves 33% of seats for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, a historic step by the Central government to strengthen women’s participation in decision-making.

He also recalled the development of ‘Panchteerth’, five sites associated with Dr. Ambedkar, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to honour Babasaheb’s legacy.

Outlining the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, Shiv Pratap Shukla said the Central government was working with a focus on economic growth, good governance, environmental sustainability, and the empowerment of youth, poor, women, and farmers to make India a developed nation and one of the top three global economies.

Urging students to set goals aligned with their interests and work diligently towards them, the Governor concluded with Swami Vivekananda’s call: “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.”

Deputy Chairman of the Telangana Legislative Council Banda Prakash, BRAOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Commissioner of Collegiate Education Sridevasena, Jyothi Reddy Foundation Chairperson Dudipala Jyothi Reddy, Director (Academics) Prof. G. Pushpa Chakrapani,  Registrar Dr. L. Vijaya Krishna Reddy and Joint secretary to Governor Shri Shahikirana chary were among those present.
