BLIND WELFARE EVENT HIGHLIGHTS PENSION DELAYS, SEEKS PRIORITY RELIEF

Hyderabad, April 20 (RAHNUMA):A welfare event held on Akshaya Tritiya brought attention to the financial struggles of retired blind employees, with appeals for faster release of pending benefits.

Telangana legislative council chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy attended the programme organised by Ponugoti Chokka Rao, general secretary, Development and welfare association of the Blind, Hyderabad, where the former sarpanches of Tipparthi mandal, Nalgonda – Gunda Satyanarayana, Chintalakunta Ravinder Reddy, ex-ZPTC Basham Ram Reddy, Y. Narender Reddy, K. Jana Reddy, ex-Head Master were felicitated for their support.

The organisers urged the authorities to expedite payments such as GPF, GIS and leave encashment for visually impaired retirees, citing total dependence on these funds.

The Chairman noted that Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has released Rs.800 crore towards retirement dues, with priority for disabled employees.

The association stressed that timely disbursal is critical for the livelihood of blind retirees.
