Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy Participates in Self-Enumeration for Census 2027 in Telangana

Hyderabad, April 26 (RAHNUMA): Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy participated in the self-enumeration to process for Census 2027 in Telangana by registering his details through the designated online census portal, marking the commencement of the self-enumeration phase in the State on Sunday.

Addressing a press conference organised by the Office of the Director of Census Operations, Telangana, the Minister described the Census as a foundational pillar in India’s development journey and a critical tool for planning, governance, and equitable development. He stated that accurate and comprehensive data is essential for effective policymaking and inclusive growth.

Highlighting the significance of Census 2027, he said that it marks a transformative phase with the adoption of modern digital technology, ensuring greater transparency, efficiency, and inclusiveness. He informed that the self-enumeration facility is available from April 26 to May 10, 2026, followed by House Listing Operations from May 11 to June 9, 2026, laying a strong foundation for comprehensive data collection.

The Union Minister also emphasised that Census 2027 will provide a clearer understanding of socio-economic conditions across the country and help ensure that development benefits reach every citizen.

On this occasion he urged citizens to participate in the Census and provide accurate information, stating that every data point contributes to the nation’s future and the vision of Viksit Bharat of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Bharathi Holikeri, Director , Directorate Census Operations, Telangana, further informed that the Self-Enumeration (SE) facility enables citizens to directly participate in the Census through the official portal https://se.census.gov.in

She also highlighted that the data submitted will remain fully confidential and encouraged all residents to utilise the facility. She added that a Self-Enumeration ID will be generated upon submission, which will be verified and finalised by the enumerator also.

R. V. Karnan, Commissioner, GHMC, and Priyanka Ala, District Collector, Hyderabad, were also present on the occasion.
