Hyderabad, April 27 (RAHNUMA): “Put aside the new party. The survival of the existing party remains uncertain. The BRS has a history, but no viable future ahead. K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the former chief minister and president of BRS, is my political competitor, not my enemy,” stated Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
During an informal conversation with media persons on the Assembly premises on Monday, the Chief Minister expressed his thoughts on the current political landscape in Telangana.
In the discussion, he made noteworthy comments regarding the Telangana Rashtra Sena (TRS)—the new party established by former MLC Kavitha, along with KCR, the BRS chief and ex-Chief Minister.
“Every action is driven by a purpose, and once that purpose is met, its necessity diminishes. The BRS’s relevance has similarly diminished. No matter how beautifully a corpse is presented, it will not come back to life; the BRS represents such a lifeless entity,” he said.
“During the Telangana movement, anything and everything was tolerated; people endured attacks and insults alike. However, expecting such tolerance to continue now is simply not feasible. After a decade in power, they have become arrogant and out of touch with the public.
Their rising arrogance led to the BRS’s defeat in 2023. In the following elections, they received a complete shutout. The connection between the people and the KCR family, as well as the BRS, has been broken. Their current frantic efforts are purely in service of the family’s interests. We will not accept new parties stemming from your internal family conflicts. Water drawn from the same source does not alter its essence,” Revanth Reddy remarked.
“I have never held negative thoughts regarding KCR’s health. He is purely my political contender and not an enemy. I hope for KCR’s good health, as it would make our political dealings easier,” he added.
The Chief Minister emphasised that his administration is functioning without bias, ensuring equality for all segments of the population in Telangana.
Furthermore, he remarked that the High Court did not wrongly address the Kaleshwaram Commission report.
“The High Court pointed out that only technical mistakes were present and that actions based on the report should be withheld. Proper action will be taken after the CBI conducts an investigation into the Kaleshwaram irregularities,” stated Revanth Reddy.
