NO FUEL SHORTAGE IN TELANGANA, SUPPLY NEARLY DOUBLED: KISHAN REDDY

Hyderabad, April 29 (RAHNUMA): Union minister G. Kishan Reddy on Wednesday assured that there is ‘no shortage of petrol, diesel or domestic LPG in Telangana’, urging people to avoid panic buying and ignore rumours.

After reviewing the situation with Oil Marketing Companies, the Minister said fuel supplies have been significantly ramped up. Daily petrol supply in Telangana has risen from about 6,400 kilolitres to 10,300 KL, while in Hyderabad petrol supply has risen from about 3,200 KL to nearly 6,400 KL. Similarly, diesel supply in Telangana has gone up from around 8,000 KL to approximately 15,500–19,300 KL, while Hyderabad’s diesel supply has increased from about 2,700 KL to nearly 5,060 KL.

Out of around 4,325 fuel stations, only 106 reported temporary shortages, which are being quickly addressed. Most outlets are expected to be ‘restocked’ by evening.

Reddy stressed that India has ample petroleum reserves, with uninterrupted movement from refineries and imports. He warned that misinformation and speculation about price hikes have triggered unnecessary panic, long queues and unsafe fuel storage.

The Centre has directed the oil marketing companies to expedite supplies, release additional stock, and prioritise retail consumers and essential services. “There is no nationwide shortage of petrol, diesel, or domestic LPG. The Central Government, in coordination with state governments and oil companies, is taking all necessary steps to ensure uninterrupted supply. I urge citizens not to panic, not to hoard, and to rely on official information”, the Minister reiterated.
