Uoh named Telangana’s lead knowledge institution under NITI Aayog mission

Hyderabad, May 18 (RAHNUMA): University of Hyderabad has been formally nominated as the Lead Knowledge Institution (LKI) for the Government of Telangana under the State Support Mission (SSM) of NITI Aayog, marking a major recognition of the university’s multidisciplinary research and policy expertise.

The nomination, communicated by the Telangana Planning department, positions UoH as a key academic partner in supporting evidence-based governance and policy transformation across the state. The University will provide research-backed policy inputs, technical expertise, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, data analytics, sectoral studies, and capacity-building support to various government departments.

The collaboration is expected to focus on strategic sectors including economics and finance, agriculture, industry and infrastructure, health and education, urban development, technology and entrepreneurship, data analytics, and human resource development. The initiative is aimed at strengthening Telangana’s institutional capacities and aligning developmental priorities with the broader Vision 2047 goals.

Welcoming the development, UoH Vice-Chancellor in-charge Prof. J. Anuradha described the nomination as a matter of immense pride for the university community. She said the partnership would enable faculty and researchers to translate academic knowledge into actionable public policy and contribute meaningfully to inclusive and innovation-driven growth in Telangana.
