
Hyderabad, May 23 (RAHNUMA): The Telangana Government has officially changed the holiday for Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, from May 27, 2026 (Wednesday) to May 28, 2026 (Thursday).
The decision was taken following representations from the Telangana Wakf Board and the Minorities Welfare Department. An extraordinary gazette notification will be issued accordingly.
As per the notification, the holiday declared earlier stands modified, and May 28, 2026, will now be observed as the official Bakrid holiday across Telangana under the N.I. Act.
The order was issued by state chief secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao.
