
Hyderabad, May 26 (RAHNUMA): The first event, held in London, U.K. under the guidance of the NRI BC Cell UK, took place with significant elegance and notable success.
Many representatives from BC associations, social activists, elected officials, and members of the Indian diaspora from different regions of the UK came together, contributing to the event’s great achievement.
At the start of the programme, floral tributes were paid to Sai Eshwarachari, who sacrificed his life during the BC movement, along with other prominent figures who have significantly contributed to society. Following this, a moment of silence was held in their honour.
During the event, Dudigama Kiran Kumar, the President of the NRI BC Cell, highlighted the importance of Non-Resident Indians taking their responsibilities seriously in fostering the social, political, and economic progress of the Backward Classes (BCs).
He mentioned that the NRI BC Cell aims to further strengthen the BC community in the UK, motivate the youth, and create more opportunities in education, employment, and business. Kiran Kumar also remarked that the strong turnout at the inaugural event reflects the unity within the BC community.
As the chief guest, R. Krishnaiah, a Member of Parliament and President of the National BC Welfare Association, stressed the necessity for BCs around the world to collaborate for the benefit of their community’s social, political, and educational advancement.
He urged BCs living overseas to leverage their expertise, knowledge, and resources for societal betterment. Speaking at the event, which was chaired by Hari Goud Nawapet, he expressed that the formation of the NRI BC Cell UK is a significant milestone that will provide a robust platform for the BC community abroad.
He proposed implementing various initiatives through this platform to improve opportunities related to education, employment, and leadership within the community.
