Hyderabad, May 27 (RAHNUMA): Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) vice chairman and managing director Y. Nagireddy presented awards to the winners of the “Art for Life” painting competition at Bus Bhavan here on Wednesday.
The competition was organized earlier this month at TGSRTC Kalabhavan as part of the Telangana Government’s “99 Days of Public Administration – Progress Plan” initiative. Addressing the gathering, Nagireddy emphasized the transformative power of art, stating that visual expression can communicate social messages more effectively than words.
He praised the participating artists for highlighting critical issues such as road safety and accident prevention through their creative works, adding that public participation is essential in socially responsible initiatives aimed at saving lives.
A total of 35 participants in the painting category, 21 in sketching, and several artists in sculpture categories showcased their talent during the event.
As for the winners, the first prize of Rs.20,000 went to Bharathi Kar, while second prize (Rs.10,000) and third prize (Rs.5,000) went to Vuyyuri Durgarao and Suram Sampath Kumar, respectively. Senior officials, including EDs Khusro Shah Khan and Ch. Venkanna, Hyderabad RM Sudha Parimala, and cardiologist Dr. A. Srinivasa Kumar attended the event.
