WON’T TOLERATE INSULTS TO TELANGANA’s SELF-RESPECT: MINISTER PONNAM

Hyderabad, June 1 (RAHNUMA): State Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday asserted that Telangana would not tolerate anyone who undermines the state’s self-respect, which was achieved through the sacrifices of thousands of people and martyrs during the Telangana movement.

Speaking about June 2nd Telangana Formation Day celebrations, the minister said the occasion was a festival for every Telangana citizen and welcomed all those who wished to participate. However, he strongly objected to individuals questioning Telangana’s identity while holding political meetings in the state.

Ponnam said Telangana shared cordial relations with Andhra Pradesh and held no animosity towards its people. At the same time, he questioned the intentions of those who had previously opposed Telangana and were now expressing affection towards the state.

Targeting Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, the minister challenged him to swear by Kondagattu Anjanna and clarify whether his visit to Telangana was driven by political conviction or BJP patronage.

The minister reiterated that Telangana’s identity and dignity would be protected at all costs.
