
Hyderabad, June 1 (RAHNUMA): In a major step towards strengthening healthcare services for government employees and pensioners, Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on Monday announced that the Employees Health Scheme (EHS) will be implemented through a dedicated Employee Health Care Trust, which is expected to be constituted within the next few days.
Chairing a meeting with representatives of the Joint Staff Council and various employees’ associations at the Secretariat, the Chief Secretary said the Trust’s operational guidelines would be finalized after incorporating suggestions from employee unions and stakeholders.
He stated that the State Government, under the guidance of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is committed to providing accessible, quality and hassle-free healthcare services to serving employees, pensioners and their dependent family members.
The proposed Trust will have a separate bank account and will be funded through equal contributions from the government and employees. It will function autonomously and have the authority to take independent decisions for the benefit of beneficiaries.
Employee associations welcomed the initiative and offered suggestions on governance, financial management, service delivery and grievance redressal mechanisms to ensure the Trust’s effective functioning.
