HYD traffic police deploy drones for Bonalu traffic management at Golconda Fort

Hyderabad, July 21 (RAHNUMA): For the first time, Hyderabad Traffic Police have deployed ‘drone surveillance’ to manage traffic during the Golconda Fort Bonalu 2026 celebrations, which will continue until August 13.

The drones are providing real-time monitoring of traffic diversions, parking areas and congestion hotspots, enabling officers to respond quickly to bottlenecks and ensure smooth movement of devotees. The initiative forms part of elaborate traffic arrangements ordered by Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar to improve safety and traffic management during the festival. Elaborate traffic bandobust arrangements have been deployed.

Under the supervision of D. Joel Davis, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), the bandobust, traffic regulation, route diversions, and parking management are being actively monitored and managed on a real-time basis using drones by . Kajal, IPS, DCP (Traffic) and D. Dhanalakshmi, ACP (Traffic, Golconda Zone).
