PM’s Mann Ki Baat inspires citizen participation in nation-building: Kishan

Hyderabad, July 26 (RAHNUMA): Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly Mann Ki Baat programme has, for over a decade, served as a platform to communicate with citizens on a wide range of social, developmental and national issues.

Reacting to the latest episode of Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, Kishan Reddy said the Prime Minister appealed to citizens to promote the use of handloom products in support of India’s weaving community and encouraged people to adopt rainwater harvesting as an important water conservation measure.

He noted that the Prime Minister also urged citizens to actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign ahead of Independence Day by hoisting the National Flag and organising Tiranga Yatras in schools, villages and local communities to mark the occasion.

Referring to the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, Kishan Reddy said the Prime Minister encouraged devotees to opt for eco-friendly idols made from natural materials in order to promote environmental sustainability.

The Union Minister said that despite his official responsibilities, the Prime Minister continues to engage with the people through the monthly Mann Ki Baat broadcast, addressing issues of public interest and encouraging citizen participation in various national initiatives.

Kishan Reddy expressed his appreciation for the Prime Minister’s continued outreach through the programme and conveyed his gratitude on behalf of the people of Telangana.
