Praja Bhavan comes alive with grand Ashada Bonalu celebrations

Hyderabad, July 26 (RAHNUMA): The rich cultural heritage and traditions of Telangana came alive at Praja Bhavan on Sunday as the Ashada Bonalu festival was celebrated with grand fervour and religious devotion.

Transformed to evoke the charm and warmth of a traditional Telangana village, the Praja Bhavan premises reverberated with chants praising Goddess Ammavaru, rhythmic drumbeats, and spirited performances by Pothurajus.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, accompanied by his family members, attended the celebrations to offer special prayers and seek the blessings of the Goddess. Cabinet Ministers, including Konda Surekha, Dhanasari Seethakka, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Vakiti Srihari, also participated in the event along with their families.

Adding to the festive enthusiasm, renowned artist Jogini Shyamala delivered a lively dance performance synchronized to traditional percussion, captivating the assembled gathering alongside the energetic Pothuraju acts.

Speaking on the occasion, Konda Surekha said the Bonalu festival is a symbol of the deep faith and devotion that people have towards village deities. She noted that the centuries-old tradition of Bonalu continues to strengthen social harmony, mutual cooperation and the cultural values of society.

Konda Surekha also expressed hope that Telangana would achieve greater progress in all sectors under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. She said the Ashada Bonalu festivities were being conducted peacefully and in a grand manner, and congratulated the officials, temple committees and devotees for their contribution to the successful organisation of the celebrations.
