Hyderabad, July 29 (RAHNUMA): The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) on Wednesday conducted a large-scale anti-drug awareness programme at RTC Kalabhavan in Old Nallakunta, educating nearly 1,200 students of Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions on the dangers of narcotic drug abuse.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath urged the students to resist peer pressure and stay away from drugs, while school authorities appreciated the initiative. H-NEW reiterated its commitment to organising similar awareness campaigns across educational institutions to build a drug-free Hyderabad. He explained how substance abuse can destroy the bright future of students, adversely affect their physical and mental health, hinder their academic and professional careers, and expose them to severe legal consequences under the provisions of the law.
S. Bala Swamy, Inspector of Police, P. Sridhar, Reserve Inspector (RI) and other officers and staff of the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing were also present.
