Hyderabad, Aug.17 (RAHNUMA): The Kia Tennis Premier League (TPL), in association with the Telangana State Tennis Association (TSTA), hosted a State Ranking Tournament in Hyderabad on August 15 and 16, providing young players a platform to compete for ranking points and gain valuable experience.
The tournament, conducted under the Race to Gold scholarship programme, featured Boys’ U-10, U-12 and U-14, and Girls’ U-12 and U-14 singles categories.
Ayansh Abhilashi won the Boys’ U-10 title, while Hiyan Shah and Adhitya Devarakonda emerged champions in the U-12 and U-14 categories respectively. In the girls’ events, Parivita V. claimed both the U-12 and U-14 titles.
The tournament is part of TPL’s effort to strengthen grassroots tennis and provide aspiring players with competitive exposure. The Race to Gold programme also offers selected youngsters tennis equipment support and access to coaches, nutritionists, physiotherapists and mental trainers.
TPL co-founders Kunal Thakkur and Mrunal Jain welcomed the enthusiasm among young players and said such tournaments would help build a stronger grassroots tennis ecosystem.
The event also comes ahead of the Eighth season of Kia Tennis Premier League, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad in December, further strengthening the league’s presence in Telangana.
