Hyderabad, Aug.17 (RAHNUMA): Dr A. Vinay Kumar has taken charge as Vice-Chancellor of the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Hyderabad, with effect from August 3, 2026.
A finance scholar and academic administrator, Dr Kumar brings over 27 years of experience in higher education, including more than two decades at IIM Lucknow, where he served as Professor and Associate Professor of Finance.
At IIM Lucknow, he handled several key responsibilities spanning academic administration, institutional development, accreditation, rankings, doctoral education, research, executive education and financial management. He was also Chairman of the Doctoral Programme and held leadership roles in the Audit Committee and Employee Provident Fund.
Dr Kumar has contributed to initiatives involving NIRF rankings and international accreditations such as AACSB, AMBA and SAQS. His work has also included curriculum redesign, NEP-aligned programmes, AI integration in higher education, entrepreneurship and research development.
He holds a Ph.D. in Business Management (Finance) from Osmania University and has undergone executive pedagogy training at Harvard Business School. His research areas include venture capital, market microstructure, derivatives, financial-market sentiment and corporate governance.
