Hyderabad, Oct.9 (NSS): Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) is hosting a two-day workshop on “Vigilance Administration in Defence Public Sector Undertakings” on October 9 and 10 as part of the Preventive Vigilance Campaign 2026.

The workshop brings together Chief Vigilance Officers and officials from all 16 Defence Public Sector Undertakings on a common platform to exchange best practices, address shared challenges and strengthen institutional integrity.

The programme was inaugurated by DV Srinivas Rao, Director (Technical), BDL, in the presence of Commodore Sujay Kapoor (Retd), Director (Production), BDL, Spurthi Reddy, IRS, Chief Vigilance Officer, BDL, and senior officials.

A message from Dinesh Mahur, Additional Secretary and Chief Vigilance Officer, Department of Defence Production, stressed three priorities: preventive rather than merely punitive vigilance, protection of bona fide decisions taken in good faith, and greater use of technology and data analytics to identify risks.

Rao highlighted the role of preventive vigilance in improving governance and operational efficiency, while Reddy described the workshop as an opportunity for “Chintan and Manthan” through open dialogue and collective learning.

Sessions will cover ethical institutional practices, fraud prevention and investigation, and the sharing of best practices and challenges among vigilance units across Defence PSUs. (NSS)
