Khartoum, March 08 (QNA) – The African Union confirmed its continuous efforts to establish peace in Sudan, especially in the Blue Nile and South Kordofan, through the African Union High Level Implementation Panel, headed by Thabo Mbeki.
The African Union’s envoy to Sudan Ambassador Mahmoud Kan said in statements Wednesday that Mbeki’s delayed arrival to Khartoum aimed at holding further consultations among parties.
He assured that Mbeki will arrive soon to schedule the new anticipated talks between the Sudanese government and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM).
He restated the African Union’s commitment to enhance the security and peace of Sudan and called on the armed movements to join the peace process and reach an agreement to end the crises between the two regions. (QNA)
