Karimnagar, May 11 (RAHNUMA): All India Students Federation (AISF) state president Kasireddy Manikanta Reddy on Monday demanded the resignation of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, alleging moral responsibility in connection with a sexual assault case reportedly involving his son and a minor girl.
Addressing a protest organised by AISF at Telangana Chowk in Karimnagar, Manikanta Reddy alleged that despite a complaint being lodged under the POCSO Act at Pet Basheerabad Police Station on May 8, authorities had failed to register a case or initiate an investigation.
He further accused the Telangana government of negligence and alleged attempts to dilute the case. He also criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for retaining the Home portfolio.
AISF leaders demanded a judicial probe through a fast-track court and stringent punishment for the accused. They also sought protection for the victim’s family and alleged intimidation when the family approached police to file the complaint.
The student organisation warned that protests would intensify if immediate action was not taken.
