Bhatti welcomes Tadicherla-2 coal block allocation to Singareni

Hyderabad, July 7 (RAHNUMA): Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the continuous efforts made by the Telangana government to secure new coal mines for the development of Singareni have borne fruit.

In a statement on Tuesday, he expressed happiness that the Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy has announced the allocation of the Tadicherla-2 block to Singareni.

The Deputy Chief Minister mentioned that he personally met then Union Minister for Coal and Mines Pralhad Joshi in New Delhi on March 7, 2024, and requested the allocation of the mining lease for the Tadicherla-2 block. He further stated that during the coal block auctions conducted by the Centre in Hyderabad in June of the same year, he once again appealed to the present Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy. He also recalled making another request on November 27, 2024.

He further noted that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy also met the Prime Minister in New Delhi and requested the allocation of the Tadicherla block and other coal blocks to Singareni.

Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the consistent efforts made by the state government over the past two years have now yielded results with the allocation of the Tadicherla block, which will significantly contribute to the sustainability of Singareni. He also urged the Centre to allocate additional coal blocks in the Singareni region.

The Deputy Chief Minister pointed out that the Naini coal block in Odisha, which remained neglected during the previous government due to lack of approvals, was revived through the special initiative of the present government.

“Necessary clearances were secured, local communities were engaged, and coal production was successfully initiated. Now, the Tadicherla-2 block has also been secured,” he said.

Bhatti Vikramarka expressed gratitude on behalf of the state government to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy for responding positively to the state’s request and approving the allocation of the Tadicherla block to Singareni.
