Hyderabad, Jan.28 (RAHNUMA): BJP leaders on Wednesday expressed deep shock and grief over the tragic death of 66-year old Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash near Baramati in Maharashtra, terming it an irreparable loss to the state and the nation.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said the news was deeply shocking and heartbreaking. Recalling Pawar’s long political journey, he said the veteran leader dedicated over four decades to public service and carved a distinct identity in Maharashtra politics, particularly in western Maharashtra.

“Coming from an agricultural family, Ajit Pawar rose to become Deputy Chief Minister and earned the trust of the people through his commitment and leadership. His untimely demise is a huge loss to Maharashtra, the NDA alliance, and the country”, Reddy said, conveying condolences on behalf of the Union Ministry of Coal and Mines and the people of Telangana.
