Hyderabad, June 2 (RAHNUMA): Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) celebrated Telangana Formation Day with patriotic fervour on its campus here on Tuesday. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani unfurled the National Flag and extended greetings to faculty, staff and students on the occasion.
Paying homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the creation of Telangana state, Prof. Chakrapani said the University remains committed to ensuring equal educational opportunities for all sections of society. He highlighted BRAOU’s efforts in providing free education to children from tribal communities, including Gond, Koya and Chenchu groups, under its Equal Opportunity Plan.
On this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor announced that the University is planning to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the State Government to organize Artificial Intelligence (AI) training programmes for government teachers. He also said that the construction of DRC building under PM-USHA funding is progressing rapidly and will be completed soon.
Registrar Dr. L. Vijaya Krishna Reddy, senior professors, directors, deans, heads of departments, teaching and non-teaching staff members, and representatives of University service associations participated in the celebrations.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to educational empowerment and social inclusion in the spirit of Telangana’s development.
