Hyderabad, May 28 (RAHNUMA): The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is set to take part in a public hearing organised by the Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) in Hyderabad on Friday, concerning the Congress government’s proposed ‘Rythu DISCOM.’
A delegation from the BRS, headed by party Working President KT Rama Rao, will be present at the hearing, which is scheduled to start at 10 am. Other notable attendees will include former energy minister G Jagadish Reddy, former agriculture minister S Niranjan Reddy, and additional senior leaders and elected representatives.
The BRS has alleged that the Congress government is seeking to implement policies that could harm farmers and the state’s electricity sector under the pretense of creating a separate DISCOM for agriculture. The party intends to present its objections to the proposal at the ERC and express its concerns regarding the effects on Telangana’s agricultural community and power sector.
