Congress demands a flood relief package  for Telangana

Hyderabad, Sept.4 (NSS): Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has demanded that the Union government immediately release a relief package for Telangana, considering the State’s ongoing crisis as a national disaster.

He asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Telangana personally to assess the damage and understand the reality of the situation.

Speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, Kiran Kumar Reddy, who represents Bhongir Lok Sabha constituency, criticised Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay for failing to persuade the Prime Minister in the  announcement of relief package for Telangana and moreover, they were misleading the people with contradictory statements.

The Congress MP also criticised BRS working president KT Rama Rao, accusing him of being indifferent to the people’s suffering during floods.

“Even when it rains or floods, KTR doesn’t seem to care. He is busy on the social media platform X, making comments that have become a subject of ridicule,” he pointed out.

Continuing his criticism, the Bhongir MP mentioned that the Supreme Court had passed a judgment on the bulldozer administration in Uttar Pradesh, which KTR has been misinterpreting in relation to the Telangana HYDRA.

The MP also pointed out the internal conflicts within the BRS, stating that there are two factions in Khammam. He claimed that when these BRS groups clashed, false cases were filed against the Congress workers.

Additionally, he questioned KTR’s whereabouts, suggesting that even the eight BJP MPs, supposedly elected due to KTR’s influence, are nowhere to be found.

The Congress leader emphasized that addressing public grievances should take precedence over grandstanding in open-top jeeps.

He praised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for his determination to push forward with the HYDRA and included the commitment to protect lakes in Hyderabad.
