CYBER AWARENESS DRIVE REACHES 520 PARTICIPANTS IN RAJENDRANAGAR

Hyderabad, July 4 (RAHNUMA): The Rajendranagar Zone Police conducted a cyber crime awareness programme at the Telangana State Institute of Rural Development (TGIRD), educating 520 participants, including SCERT state resource persons, MPDOs and agriculture sector professionals, on protecting themselves from online frauds.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) S Sreenivas, who led the session, highlighted emerging cyber threats such as digital arrest scams, fake investment and job frauds, phishing attacks and UPI payment scams. He urged citizens to follow safe online practices and report cyber financial fraud immediately by calling the national helpline 1930 within the “Golden Hour” to improve the chances of recovering lost money.

The programme was attended by ACP T Srinivas, Inspector M Muthu Yadav, and Sub-Inspector S Mallesham of the Zonal Cyber Cell. The DCP also appealed to participants to act as “Cyber Safety Ambassadors” by spreading cyber safety awareness in educational institutions, government departments and rural communities.
