
Hyderabad, July 3 (RAHNUMA): Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh on Friday launched “Operation Muskan-12”, a month-long drive to rescue missing children and those forced into begging, child labour, rag-picking, trafficking and bonded labour.
Addressing a convergence meeting at the Cyberabad Commissionerate, the Commissioner urged all stakeholder departments to work in coordination for success of the operation, which will continue till July 31. The participants in the convergence meeting were K. Srujana., DCP (W&CSW), S. Krishna Prasad, ACP, W&CSW, Raja Reddy, Child welfare committee, Medchal District, D. Sahithi, Assistant Commissioner of Labour, Sanga Reddy District, Praveen Kumar, District Child Protection Officer, Ranga Reddy District, Imtiyaz, District Child Protection Officer, Medchal Malkajgiri District, Ratnam, District Child Protection Officer, Sanga Reddy District, G. Venkatesham, Child Welfare Committee Member, Sanga Reddy, Haleem, Medical Officer, Ranga Reddy District, P. Yadaiah Goud, Inspector of Police, AHTU, Cyberabad and staff of the AHTU, Cyberabad and others participated.
Seven special police teams, each headed by a Sub-Inspector, have been formed to identify, rescue and rehabilitate vulnerable children. Police will also use the facial recognition application ‘Darpan’ to trace missing and unidentified children. The police have identified clusters/Hotspots where children were found forced into labour basing on the data of the previous cases. “Teams along with other stakeholder departments will coordinate the rescue and rehabilitation work.
The operation will be supervised by DCP (Women & Child Safety Wing) K. Srujana with support from officials of the Labour Department, Child Welfare Committees, District Child Protection Units and other concerned departments.
