Hyderabad, July 6 (RAHNUMA): Former Governor Bandaru Dattatreya on Monday paid rich tributes to Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on his 125th birth anniversary, describing him as a symbol of nationalism and national unity.
Addressing a commemorative programme here at Ramnagar, Dattatreya said Mukherjee’s vision of “One Nation, One Constitution” became a reality with the abrogation of Article 370 by the Narendra Modi-led government in 2019.
He further said that the Bharatiya Jana Sangh had grown into the BJP, now the world’s largest democratic political party. “The small seed sown by Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee in the form of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh has today grown into the mighty banyan tree known as the Bharatiya Janata Party”, he said and urged the younger generation to draw inspiration from Mukherjee’s patriotism and sacrifice.
BJP leaders Sai Krishna Yadav, M.C. Mohan, Kundinya Prasad, Shobha Thakur and a large number of people participated in the programme.
