Hyderabad, July 10 (RAHNUMA): The Election Commission of India on Friday convened a video conference with all District Election Officers (DEOs) and Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Observers.
During this meeting, directives were issued to accelerate the digitisation of enumeration forms. Additionally, instructions were given to issue show-cause notices to Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) who have demonstrated low performance in the digitisation of these forms.
In Hyderabad, R.V. Karnan, the Commissioner of GHMC and the District Election Officer (DEO), presided over a thorough review session concerning the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). This meeting involved all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and election personnel. Key discussion points included the current state of data digitisation, ensuring the timely completion of Enumeration Forms, and strict adherence to the schedule set by the Election Commission.
During the review, the DEO observed that the progress of SIR data digitisation in Sanathnagar, Musherabad and Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly constituencies was unsatisfactory and significantly below the expected standards.
Expressing serious concern over the poor performance, the Commissioner issued show cause notices to the concerned EROs and conveyed a stern warning to all low-performing officers to improve their performance immediately.
The Commissioner directed all EROs to closely monitor the digitisation process, ensure accuracy and timely completion of all pending work, and maintain daily progress. He reiterated that any negligence or delay in the SIR process will be viewed seriously and appropriate action will be initiated against the responsible officials.
