Jupally demands unconditional apology from KTR on murder allegations

Hyderabad, May 24 (NSS): Minister for Excise Jupally Krishna Rao has demanded that BRS working president KT Rama Rao should tender an unconditional apology for levelling baseless remarks in connection with the murder of BRS leader Sridhar Reddy.

Speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday, Krishna Rao along with Congress Lok Sabha candidate for Nagarkurnool Mallu Ravi and other leaders said that the BRS working president should be prepared to face defamation if he does not apologise immediately.

Terming the death of Sridhar Reddy, who was axed to death by unidentified persons outside his house at Laxmipally village of Chinnambavi mandal in Wanaparthy district on Thursday, as unfortunate,  the Minister said that it was not a political murder and the BRS leader was murdered due to different reasons, including his alleged involvement of land disputes, financial transactions and other acts.

“After I and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy left the BRS party, the people tought a fitting lesson to the party in the Assembly elections. The party was made to sit in the Opposition. Now, KTR is unable to digest the facts that he is away from power. That’s why he is making derogatory remarks against me,” Jupally Krishna Rao said.

The Minster said he has never encouraged violence in politics and has always been away from the murder politics since the start of political career.

“The people of the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district know very well about me. They are fully aware of my political life. The people don’t believe these allegations made by  KTR against me,” Krishna Rao said.

He criticised the BRS working president for indulging in cheap tactics linking the death of a person to the politics and said that KT Rama Rao didn’t have any moral rights to speak about the values and family relations.

“People didn’t forget atrocities that were taken place against Dalits in Sircilla during the tenure of BRS government. The Dalit families had faced untold problems in the last 10 years and KT Rama Rao never raised his voice in support of the suppressed families,” Jupally pointed out.

The Minister stated that KT Rama Rao is not fit for the politics for indulging in corpse politics and said that he should tender an unconditional apology immediately. (NSS)
