Nitin Gadkari Blames Congress for Rural Migration, Advocates BJP’s Vision for Village Welfare

Hyderabad  1st March 2024:In a rally held at Nizamabad, Telangana, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari criticized the Congress party, attributing to it the responsibility for the significant migration of people from villages to towns since Independence. Speaking as part of the state BJP’s ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatra’ ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Gadkari highlighted the failure of successive Congress governments in fulfilling promises made to uplift villages, the poor, laborers, and farmers.

Gadkari referenced Jawaharlal Nehru’s tenure as Prime Minister, accusing the Congress of neglecting the welfare of rural India despite Nehru’s promises. He lamented the decline in rural populations, attributing it to the Congress party’s flawed economic policies. Gadkari emphasized that under Congress rule, rural infrastructure, including roads and water supply, remained neglected, and farmers struggled to secure fair prices for their produce.

Highlighting his own contributions to infrastructure development, including the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Gadkari underscored the importance of road connectivity in rural areas. He stated that the Narendra Modi-led government has prioritized the progress of villages, laborers, and farmers since assuming office in 2014.

Gadkari also outlined significant road development initiatives in Telangana, with the Union Road Transport and Highways Ministry investing heavily in infrastructure projects worth Rs. two lakh crore. He emphasized the NDA government’s commitment to nationwide road connectivity, extending from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

Appealing to the electorate to support the BJP, Gadkari promised job creation for youth, welfare measures for farmers, and empowerment for women. He highlighted the government’s focus on promoting ethanol as an alternative fuel source, aiming to reduce the country’s dependence on imports and bolster farmers’ incomes.

In conclusion, Gadkari’s address at Nizamabad encapsulated the BJP’s narrative of rural development, contrasting it with the alleged failures of the Congress. With elections looming, his speech aimed to rally support for the BJP by emphasizing its commitment to uplifting rural India and fostering economic prosperity for all citizens.
