
Hyderabad, Aug.13 (RAHNUMA): Transport and R&B Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj on Thursday directed officials to expedite arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations to be held at Golconda Fort on Saturday.
Vikas Raj inspected the venue along with senior officials of the departments concerned and reviewed the arrangements for the celebrations.
In view of the monsoon, he reviewed arrangements including waterproof shamianas, a waterproof generator, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, barricading, galleries, seating for guests, students and the public, and sound systems.
Vikas Raj directed officials to ensure that the programme was conducted smoothly without causing any inconvenience to attendees.
The Special Chief Secretary instructed officials to strictly adhere to protocol and ensure that there were no lapses in the conduct of the programme. He also directed them to expedite stage arrangements and beautification works.
As a large number of students from government and private schools across the district are expected to attend the celebrations, Vikas Raj directed officials to make adequate arrangements for their convenience. He instructed Education department officials to ensure that every vehicle transporting students has a designated liaison officer.
With the Chief Minister, Ministers, dignitaries and public representatives scheduled to attend the celebrations, he directed officials to make elaborate arrangements and complete all works meticulously on a priority basis.
Vikas Raj, along with senior officials, also witnessed the police guard of honour and parade to be presented to the Chief Minister.
