Ponnam calls for Goud community unity at GOPA swearing-in ceremony

Hyderabad, Oct.6 (NSS): The Goud Officials and Professionals Association (GOPA) held its swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected state executive committee at Neera Café on PV Marg, Hyderabad on Sunday.

The event witnessed the participation of several prominent leaders, with Minister for Transport and BC Welfare, Ponnam Prabhakar, attending as the chief guest.

Former minister Srinivas Goud administered the oath to the new executive members of GOPA. After the ceremony, Ponnam Prabhakar extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed executive team.

He emphasised the importance of expanding GOPA’s membership and outlined ambitious goals for the organization.

Also in attendance at the event were BC Welfare department Principal Secretary Burra Venkatesham, former ministers Srinivas Goud and Rajesham Goud, MLA Kavvampally Satyanarayana, BC Finance Corporation Chairman Nuthi Srikanth Goud, Handicrafts Chairman Naidu Satyanarayana Goud, BC Commission members Bala Lakshmi, former MLAs Koduru Satyanarayana and former MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana.

During his address, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar set forth an ambitious target for GOPA. He urged the new committee to enroll 1,00,000 members from all 33 districts of Telangana within 100 days, stressing that every child of the Goud community should become a member of GOPA.

“Being a part of this organisation is open only to educated and professionally engaged individuals, as they must guide the community forward,” the Minister said.

He emphasised the need for financial assistance for students from rural areas, providing special training programs for employment, and ensuring that backward sections of society receive the necessary support.

He further encouraged the executive body to plan and strategize outreach across all districts, involving community leaders, former ministers, IAS officers, MLAs, and key officials to extend GOPA’s presence to rural levels.

Ponnam urged the Goud community to stay united and cooperative, not just in education and employment, but also in politics and social progress.
