Hyderabad, July 13 (RAHNUMA): Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated that quality roads are essential for attracting industries, promoting businesses, and generating employment opportunities.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, along with Tourism and Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, and Animal Husbandry Minister Vakiti Srihari, laid the foundation stone for Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) road projects worth ₹531 crore in Makthal Assembly constituency of Narayanpet district on Monday.
As part of the HAM projects, the Ministers jointly laid the foundation stone for the ₹237-crore four-lane Makthal–Narayanpet HAM road project.
MLAs Yennam Srinivas Reddy and Veerlapalli Shankar, District Collector Priyanka, elected representatives, officials, Congress leaders, and party workers in large numbers attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the government had launched HAM road projects worth ₹531 crore in Makthal constituency. He appreciated Minister Vakiti Srihari for consistently raising the demand for the Makthal–Narayanpet road in every review meeting and making sustained efforts to secure approval for the project.
The Minister said the four-lane Makthal–Narayanpet road would be completed within 12 to 16 months, reducing travel time to Narayanpet to just 20 minutes.
He appealed to the people to cooperate with the road expansion works, assuring that the government would provide fair compensation to those whose lands are acquired.
Despite inheriting huge debts and pending liabilities from the previous government, the present government is simultaneously pursuing welfare and development, he said.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that welfare schemes such as Rythu Bharosa, ration cards, and the distribution of fine rice were being implemented effectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Vakiti Srihari said the Makthal–Narayanpet road had been a long-cherished dream of the people and that it was becoming a reality under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Srihari said the Chief Minister and the Ministers concerned were promptly sanctioning funds for every development project required in Makthal constituency.
Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had worked tirelessly to secure thousands of crores of rupees for road development across the state. He emphasised that quality road infrastructure forms the foundation for Telangana’s overall development.
Despite the state’s challenging financial situation, the government has been successfully implementing several welfare and development programmes, including Indiramma housing, Rythu Bharosa, bonus payments for fine paddy, and integrated schools, Jupally Krishna Rao said.
Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy subsequently initiated the construction of HAM roads in the Gadwala constituency, with an allocated budget of ₹339.39 crore. He also laid the foundation for HAM road projects in the Wanaparthi district, valued at ₹359.09 crore.
