Hyderabad, May 26 (RAHNUMA): Kalvakuntla Kavitha, founder of Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, calling him a “vicious Chief Minister” and alleging that the Congress government in the state was functioning like a “malignant administration.”
Kavitha made the remarks after meeting Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Lok Bhavan here along with leaders of the Telangana Rakshana Sena, Dharma Samaj Party, and victims affected by land acquisition and demolition drives in Velugumatla, the Regional Ring Road (RRR) project and the proposed Kadlapur Industrial Park in Pargi Mandal.
Addressing the media later, Kavitha said the delegation explained to the Governor the issues related to house demolitions in Velugumatla, changes in the RRR project alignment, land acquisition in Rayagiri, and attempts to acquire land for an industrial park in Kadlapur. The sustained protests by the TRS and Dharma Samaj Party had forced the state government to halt land acquisition for the Pargi industrial park and the RRR project, while also agreeing to allocate land to displaced families in Velugumatla at the same location.
Calling these “partial victories”, Kavitha said intervention from the Centre was still necessary to ensure complete justice for the affected families. The Governor assured the delegation that he would seek reports from the state government and make efforts to ensure justice for the displaced persons, she added.
Kavitha warned that if the government failed to address the concerns within a reasonable timeframe, the parties would intensify their protests through democratic means.
