
Hyderabad, June 26 (RAHNUMA): Telangana is set to welcome Sanjay Jaju, a senior IAS officer, as its new Chief Secretary. His appointment follows the conclusion of the current Chief Secretary, K. Ramakrishna Rao’s tenure on June 30. The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, made the decision to appoint Jaju after careful consideration of potential candidates.
Sanjay Jaju, who joined the IAS in 1992, brings a wealth of administrative expertise cultivated through his service in both the unified Andhra Pradesh and the subsequent Telangana. Notably, he previously held significant positions as the Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the Commissioner of Civil Supplies. Furthermore, he was instrumental in developing innovative citizen service platforms, such as ‘Meeseva,’ within the IT domain.
His career also includes several years on deputation with the Central government, where he served as Secretary for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region.
Upon the Telangana government’s request, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet authorized Jaju’s repatriation to his home cadre. He is slated to officially assume his new role as Chief Secretary immediately after Ramakrishna Rao’s retirement on June 30.
