Hyderabad, Oct.1 (NSS): SCR General Manager Arun Kumar Jain conducted a review meeting on the safety of train operations across the zone on Tuesday at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Neeraj Agrawal, Additional General Manager, SCR and Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions also participated in the meeting through Video conference.
The General Manager reviewed the summary of around 1200 safety inspections carried out by the officials and supervisors during September 2024. He instructed that any
deficiencies and incidents of asset failures found during inspections should be rectified at the earliest. He also instructed the officials to increase the number inspections per month at officer and supervisor levels. He reiterated on the need to ensure maintenance of all safety related registers and records by the field level staff as per the procedures and strictly follow the safe working practices to ensure smooth running of trains.
Arun Kumar Jain also reviewed the summary of safety drives undertaken during the month of September, 2024. He instructed the officials to focus on availability and functioning of safety related items such as Signalling, Engineering items, station assets related to safety and so on. The GM appreciated the improvement in crew working hours and advised the officials to maintain the same to ensure proper rest to the crew members.
