Hyderabad, June 10 (RAHNUMA): Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies N. Uttam Kumar Reddy inaugurated the Jakora-Chandur Lift Irrigation Scheme in Banswada Assembly constituency of Nizamabad district on Wednesday.
The Rs 106 crore project will draw water from Nizam Sagar to irrigate 4,470 acres across Varni, Chandur and Mosra revenue mandals and provide water for both Kharif and Rabi crops. Additionally, it meets the drinking water needs of several villages in the area.
The Minister also took stock of the ongoing works of Sidhapur reservoir. Zahirabad MP Suresh Kumar Shetkar, Banswada MLA and former speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, and Irrigation Secretary E. Sridhar were among those present. The Minister was felicitated on the occasion.
