Hyderabad, Sept.4 (RAHNUMA): ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad, inaugurated the 11th Sri N.J. Yasaswy memorial Moot Court competition – 2026 at its campus on Friday. The three-day competition, being held from September 4 to 6, carries a prize pool of Rs.Two lakh, along with free access to Manupatra, the event’s Legal Tech Partner.
Delivering the inaugural address, Dr Pradeep Rai, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India and President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, highlighted the importance of extensive reading, concentration, commitment and perseverance in the study and practice of law. He encouraged participants to view sincere effort as a measure of success.
ICFAI Law School Director General Prof Vijender Kumar urged the students to read original judgments, develop critical thinking and approach legal issues from an advocate’s perspective to strengthen their advocacy skills.
The competition has attracted 80 teams from leading law schools across India, including Gujarat National Law University, National Law Institute University, Bhopal; Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai; Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur; Himachal Pradesh National Law University; National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi; Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam; O.P. Jindal Global University; Symbiosis Law School, Pune; and Christ (Deemed to be) University, Bengaluru, among others.
The various rounds will be judged by an eminent panel of 92 judges comprising academics, legal practitioners and representatives of leading law firms. The valedictory session on September 6 will be presided over by two sitting judges of the Telangana High Court, when the winners will be announced.
