Govt committed to curb cybercrime, drug in Telangana: CM Revanth

Hyderabad, July 2 (NSS): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said the State government is committed to curb cybercrimes and the menace of drug culture in Telangana.

The Chief Minister on Tuesday visited Telangana Command & Control Centre (TGCCC) and chaired an interaction meeting with L&O officers of the Tri-Commissionerates of Hyderabad, Cyberabad & Rachakonda.

Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy expressed concern over growing the rampant usage of drug among the youth and said that drugs were the reason for the incidents of violence against children.

“Telangana youths should not be addicted to drugs and they should be able to fight the problems,” the Chief Minister said.

 Congratulating film actor Chiranjeevi who is a partner in drug epidemic awareness programme, the Chief Minister suggested the film industry that a short video against drugs should be made with the same actors on the occasion of every film release.

“A video related to drug control and cybercrime should be screened for free in every cinema theater before the movie.

The government will assist those who comply with these regulations in the matter of permits. The film industry has a social responsibility to protect the society,” Revanth Reddy said.

He further stated that the State government is committed to provide support to Cybercrime Bureau. In the first quarter of the year itself, a 3.75 crores budget has been sanctioned to the Cyber Bureau, the Chief Minister disclosed.

The officials were directed to deal with cyber crimes with iron hand and to take all measures to curb the menace of drug in Telangana.

The Chief Minister has flagged off 14 four wheelers and 55 two-wheeler vehicles which were sanctioned by the State government to the Cyber Security Bureau.

Director General of Police Ravi Gupta, Director TGANB Sandeep Shandilya, Director TGCSB Shikha Goel, CP Hyderabad City K Sreenivasa Reddy, CP Cyberabad Avinash Mohanty, CP Rachakonda Tarun Joshi, IGP P&L Ramesh Reddy and other senior police officers attended the meeting. (NSS)
