Kishan, Bandi Sanjay have no moral right to continue as Union Ministers : Ponnam

Hyderabad, July 27 (NSS): Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar has accused Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay of failing to bring funds to the State of Telangana and said that both leaders had no moral right to continue as the Union Ministers.

Speaking to the media at the Assembly media point, Ponnam Prabhakar criticised the Central government for discriminating against Telangana and acting in a partisan manner in the allocation of funds in the Union Budget.

“Both leaders represented from Telangana could not influence anything in the Union budget which has failed to allocate funds for the development of Telangana,” Ponnam said.

He stated that the Congress government has allocated Rs. 10,000 crores for the development of Hyderabad in the budget and urged the Centre to extend its support and cooperation for the development of State.

“Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay representing here should prove their sincerity by bringing funds for the development of Hyderabad as well as Telangana through the budget amendments,” Ponnam Prabhakar said.

“The GHMC, HMDA, Metro Water Works, Southern Power Distribution Corporation and Metro Water Works departments in Hyderabad have been unable to pay the bills to the contractors due to lack of funds.

A special package should be announced  for the development of Hyderabad. Funds should be allocated for construction of roads and pipelines through SRDP and SNDP. In addition to this, the funds should be earmarked for drinking water under the Amrit scheme,” the Minister demanded.
