Hyderabad, Aug.7 (NSS): Minister for Revenue Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy appealed to the South Central Railway (SCR) to make changes in the alignment of the new railway line proposed through Khammam and Warangal districts.
The Minister called on SCR General Manager Arun Kumar Jain at Rail Nilayam here on Wednesday and brought the matter to his notice.
The Minister stated that the proposed new railway line from Dornakal to Kusumanchi mandal of Khammam district via Naikgudem to Mothe in Suryapet district to Gadwal will pass through four mandals of his constituency Paleru in Khammam district and due to the proposed line, the farmers will have to lose their cultivable lands.
He appealed to the SCR General Manager to change the proposed alignment and establish the new railway line in another way.
Similarly, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy urged Arun Kumar Jain to consider the master plan of Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) and construct the Warangal city bypass railway line.
He stated that the Congress government is giving the highest priority to the development of Warangal city and is preparing a master plan for 2050 keeping in view the future needs. In this context, the Railway department should add the proposed new railway line from Nashkal to Hasan Parthi, Nashkal to Chintalapalli to the Warangal master plan. The currently prepared railway route will damage the Warangal Master Plan. So, keeping all these things in mind, the alignment should be changed, Ponguleti said.
